My name is.. It is the effort of a young girl who wants to become a mother for the first time. She keeps writing thoughts on her belly. Her silent voice traces softly the possible names for her future children. But after many efforts she resigns from everything and with the same softness she deletes the hypotheses which she had sweetly formulated. And at the end her decision is just to stop the quest for a name. This would offer the newly born a brilliant future. A kid without a name, just free from prejudice related to a birthplace, to a society, to a religion, to an education. A kid belonging to a free world that his mother had ardently wished to belong to. It is this young girl who writes and deletes the names on her belly. The bitterness of a mother not yet making true what she has been dreaming of has been facilitated by a new ray of hope for life. The video has been shot with preset quadrate and with the video-camera positioned upside down. The colors vary from the natural into the artificial ones. My name is... È la ricerca di una giovane ragazza che per la prima volta diventa madre. Scrive e riscrive pensieri sul suo grembo. La sua voce silenziosa imprime dolcemente i possibili nomi per il suo futuro bambino. Ma dopo tanto arrovellarsi rinuncia a tutto e con la stessa dolcezza cancella le ipotesi che in modo ugualmente amorevole aveva formulato. E alla fine la sua decisione e' proprio di restare senza un nome che conferirebbe al nascituro un futuro prefigurato. Un figlio senza nome, libero da pregiudizi inerenti un luogo d'origine, una societa', una religione, un'educazione. Un figlio di un mondo libero al quale la madre avrebbe desiderato appartenere. E' la giovane ragazza che scrive e cancella i nomi sul suo ventre . L'amarezza della madre per non avere trovato la propria realizzazione e' mitigata da una nuova speranza di vita. Il video è girato con inquadratura fissa, e con la macchina da presa rivolta sempre verso il basso. èun momento quasi staccato e sottolineato, per rafforzarne il pensiero definito.
